Carmen grew up in Jackson, Michigan and graduated from Lumen Christi High School. She completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Siena Heights University and then returned to Baker College for a second degree in Education. She moved to Charleston, SC for 4 years to begin her career as a 6th grade math teacher at Charleston County School of the Arts. Upon moving back to Michigan, she taught one year of 5th grade at Immaculate Heart of Mary and worked for 5 years as a middle school math intervention specialist for Michigan Virtual Charter Academy. In 2020, she joined TK as a 3rd grade virtual teacher and last year, she joined our TKMS staff as a 7th grade math teacher.
Carmen and her family moved to Middleville 7 years ago and quickly grew to love the community. Her husband Lloyd is a firefighter for Thornapple Township Emergency Services. Her daughter, Ellison will be attending 3rd grade and her son, Gehrig will be in 2nd grade both at Lee. Carmen enjoys spending time with her family and 2.5 year old Weimaraner puppy named Winnie. She also likes fitness, gardening and cooking. She loves being a part of the TK family. Go Trojans! |
